Life viewed through a camera lens
Exit A1 from Tin Hau MTR station does not take you directly onto King's Road, but into a back alley with a sitting-out area.
This area feels distinctly village-like as we head into the Eastern District of Hong Kong.
Pedestrians wait patiently to cross the road; perhaps to use Exit A1 as their entrance to the MTR.
Tin Hau has a solid feel when you look at the construction of these older apartment blocks.
'Corner buildings' show some of best efforts by architects and builders to distinguish themselves. Note the standard flat-face to the building on the main street, while the face on the side street is far more complex, providing just that little extra space for the occupants inside.
On the opposite side of King's Road to Tin Hau MTR station, the land rises up sharply so nearby residents get plenty of exercise; perhaps this is why Hongkongers live so long?
